The Gospel is the Joyful message from God that leads us to salvation.
God
(Isaiah 6:1-3; Colossians 1:16-17; Psalm 8:1-4; John 3:16; Romans 1:18)
God is our creator. He is loving, holy and just. Since he is all of these things, He must also bring
Man
(Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:9-12; Ephesians 2:1-3; Isaiah 53:6; 59:2; Romans 6:23)
People are made in the image of God. We are beautiful and amazing creatures with dignity, worth, and value. But through our willful, sinful rebellion against God, we have turned from being his children to his enemies. This rebellion at its root is our choice not to believe God and instead attempt to make ourselves God. All have sinned, and because of this, we are separated from God, and it is impossible for us to earn our way back to Him. Still, all people have the capacity to be in a restored loving relationship with God.
Christ
(John 3:16; Romans 5:6-8; 6:23; Ephesians 2:4-9; Colossians 1:19-23; 1 Peter 2:22; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; John 10:10)
Jesus Christ is truly God and truly man, whose sinless life gave him the ability to become the perfect sacrifice. Through his death on the cross, he ransomed sinful people. His death paid the price for the sins of all who come to Him in faith and his resurrection from the dead in bodily form is the ultimate vindication of the truth of these claims. He then ascended to the right hand of the Father and intercedes on behalf of all who are in Him.
Response
(Romans 10:9-11, Matthew 4:17; Acts 2:38; John 8:12; 5:24-25; 1:12; Luke 9:23-24)
The response God requires from us is to acknowledge our sin, repent and believe in Christ. So we turn from sin, especially the sin of unbelief and turn to God in faith, with the understanding that we will follow him the rest of our days. That we would deny ourselves and instead live to love and enjoy, and glorify the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, as we were created for.
We have a creator, he is holy and perfect, loving and merciful. But we have all sinned against him. Separating ourselves from him. God could have, in his love and mercy, simply allowed me an earthly life with some pleasures and then let me fall forever under his just judgment.
But in his extraordinary, amazing love, the Son of God has come and taken on flesh. Jesus was truly God and truly man, and he lived the life that we should have lived in perfect fellowship with God, and he died the death that we deserve.
God then raised
